sauza commemerotivo

Tequila Sauza is known throughout the world for their attention to detail and sparing no expense in pursuit of the finest tequila they can make. Those characteristics shine in their delicious Sauza Conmemorativo. This fine tequila is probably the most elegant añejo tequilas within its super low price point of less than $20 a bottle! When you consider all that goes into each bottle, this price is truly astounding!

Created initially to celebrate Sauza’s 100-year anniversary, this tequila uses only 100% Blue Weber agave.  Each plant is selected only when ready and when its flavors are at their peak. After distillation, Sauza ages the Conmemorativo in oak Bourbon casks for 18 months (the minimum for añejo tequilas).

The result is a deep golden tequila with notes of oak, agave, vanilla and caramel. It tastes light and there are hints of sweet citrus, brown sugar, vanilla and caramel. In the end, notice a little pepper and oak that finishes quickly, leaving traces of the caramel and oak.

As an añejo, this is delicious sipped neat or on the rocks. It is also a wonderful mixing tequila simply because of the amazing price. Most añejos sell for twice this much.  As a result, some will avoid mixing anejos with anything. But with Sauza Conmemorativo, you can definitely make a case to use this in your favorite margarita!

Try this the next time you stop in a La Posta’s Adobe Cantina y Tequileria, either in a cocktail or as a shot in a snifter. You’ll be pleased with either choice! Salud!
